Options strategies can be tailored to suit changing market conditions as not one strategy will work continually over time. We adapt our strategies as the market moves. Trading strategies can be designed to achieve many objectives whether the aim is to protect a share portfolio, generate income, take long and short positions, or profit from a change in volatility. In other words, options positions can be created with the aim of making money whether the traders view is that the market will have a big move, stay range bound or only move slightly in one direction. Options can also be very forgiving as can sometimes still be profitable when the share price moves in the wrong direction. Some strategies (straddles and strangles) can make money no matter which way the market moves, as long as it has a good move in one direction. Other strategies like ratio spreads can be setup with zero cost with the aim of profiting from an anticipated move. These positions can have no loss even if the share price moves in the wrong direction! For more information please contact me to discuss these strategies in more detail.
The strategies we most commonly trade are free setup ratio spreads, butterflies and calendar spreads. Please contact us for more information on how we trade these strategies.
